Tryptophan High Sensitive (mouse/rat) ELISA

The Tryptophan ELISA High Sensitive (Mouse/Rat) is intended for the quantitative determination of L-tryptophan.

Description

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesised by humans and therefore must be supplied in diet.

Tryptophan plays an important role in the synthesis of serotonin as it is the only source for synthesizing serotonin. Serotonin is released from the appendices of a widespread transmitter system with global modulating effects on different areas of life. The activity of this system depends particularly on the actual tryptophan level. When tryptophan in plasma decreases, it is not available for serotonin synthesis and the following melatonin production. As a result, fluctuations of mood, aggression, sleep and eating disorder, or depression can occur. The symptoms of these diseases can be eased by administration of tryptophan.
